Sport Issues that get beaten and beaten constantly. by Andy, Contributor, Well I did not want to get into these discussions. But here I go.  After, receiving email's and people talking to me about certain reporters of a local paper, I decided to give it a go, since it involves sports. There are three topics that citizens and myself were fed up and they wanted me to convey and I agreed since issues deal with sports. One is about the border issues.  A local sports writer of a newspaper wrote about the undue bad publicity that Laredo receives because of the current border issues.  And, both athletic directors agreed.  One director stated that it is hard to rent SAC for football playoffs games due to the certain unjustly inherited negative issues in Laredo. If that is the truth then there is a solution. One of the solutions is for the newspaper stop printing those issues in the local paper. Stop publicizing the negative situations in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.  Also, I ask why was it very important to the paper to disclose that the "Barbie" was a graduate of a local high school and a player for a particular school. I guess it is more important to making money at any cost. Once a story gets put on the electronic press others media groups pick up.  Therefore, understand what you are doing before wanting to talk about the issues. Second the running back stories of a local football team.  His name has been in and out of the local paper, more than it needed to be.   Why must the paper continue and probably will continue (in the future) to mention his name and a mistake he made. I guess the paper has to sensationalize . He is a seventeen years young man that made a mistake for whatever reasons.  You have added to his punishment enough by making Laredo be aware of the situation.  I look at it as "Local paper continues to bash a seventeen year old". However, amazing enough when it comes to that the story, it is passed on to another reporter.  This way the main sports reporter is made to be in the clear of the story and someone else get the blame for the story. Shirley Field!  What can I say.  The local paper has dragged it to the ground.  I know the fans and the Martin Tigers have accepted the situation.  But the issue continues.  The administration is intelligent enough that they know what the issues are.  They can handle it. But the local paper continues to drag the issue.  Hey, local reporter, we know the issues.  LISD came off a budget rearrangement pertaining to over million of dollars. Therefore, leave them alone because they can handle the Shirley Field project.  We as citizens of Laredo have faced many tribulations and we have overcome them.   Therefore, to the local paper, quit beating the Shirley Field issue to the ground. Oh and by the way.  You stated in so many words the Laredo Cigarroa Toros and SA Memorial Minuteman was going to be a snooze game for the Toros.  Do you know that according to you during that "snooze" many players are putting their lives and dedication for a cause.  What a stupid remark.
