One-Sided Affair

Last week we saw the beginning of a divorce
between LISD and UISD. Now we will move on to
one-sided affairs. The top three teams have
enjoyed their gifted and talented offense and
defense one-sided affairs. They have proven
themselves of their outstanding coaching which has
lead them to continue to move on to post season
playoffs. Therefore kudos to the Bulldogs, Longhorns
and Rams (in no particular order).
It is homecoming for the Alexander Bulldogs. And
the Martin Tigers will try to crash the party. The
Martin Tigers will be facing the Bulldogs tonight at
SAC in Laredo. The Tigers need to bounce back
from last week performance. The Tigers need to
come out tough, swinging, and with a hard hitting
defense to keep the Bulldogs off balance during the
first half. Similar to what LBJ Wolves did last week
against the Bulldogs during the first half. And
continue that similar tactic into the second half. In
this case in which LBJ cease to do.
The Wolves needs to win its final two games to have
a realistic shot at making the playoffs in fourth
place. They have been very successful in their
offense and defense. Last week the Wolves kept the
Bulldogs off balance during the first half. However,
in the second half the Bulldogs regrouped and
came out with a win. Tomorrow the LBJ Wolves will
face the United Longhorns. The Longhorns already
secured a playoff berth. Tomorrow the Wolves will
come from all sides of the turf to upset the Longhorn
game plans. The game will be very physical. This is
going to be the play game of the week. The Wolves
need a "W" in this game.
The United South Panthers and EP CC Winn
Mavericks will face off on Friday in Eagle Pass. The
Mavericks have a large stake in this game. Because
by wining they can also be in the hunt for that
number four spot. Well, at this moment in 29-5A
"anything is possible the ways standings shift from
week to week" which is good. This keeps the
competition going. In this game someone is going
to have to take advantage of a early trick play and a
2-point conversion. To come out on top.
By 10:30pm Saturday, we will be able to see a
clearer picture of the number four slot. Right now
LBJ Wolves, Eagle Pass Eagles and CC Winn can
take over that slot. All three teams are very
competitive. I would hate to even attempt to make a
prediction on the outcome for the fourth slot. Good
luck to all teams mentioned and not mentioned in
this article.
