Thoughts that run threw your mind about a game.
LMS, 09.08.11

Tigers  vs  Longhorns:
There's no question Martin Tigers got a challenge.

Bulldogs  vs  Panthers:
The Panthers need to buckle down.  They have to
stop Skaggs, Bulldog RB.  The Panthers do not want
to allow him those big runs. And, the Panther defense
has to force turnovers.

Eagles  vs  Wolves:
Family vs  family.  The Hatfields and Mcoys.

Toros  vs  Mustangs:
A great tough match up.  In this game, the team that
scores first will win the game.
Laredo Cigarroa Toros  vs  Laredo Nixon Mustangs

Before the match-up against Corpus Christi King
Mustangs, the Panther athletes walked with their
parents and gave them a token of appreciation that
symbolized gratitude.
The crowd cheered as the referee announced the
coin-flip. The Mighty Panthers received the
Mustangs kick-off. As the Mustangs began the kick-
off, the Panthers started off at the twenty yard line.
Struggles arose as both teams fought for yardage.
The heat of the game increased and the first quarter
ended at Mustangs, 14; Panthers, 0.
As the second quarter rolled in, the Panthers were
eager to create force and were anxious to win.
Finally, the Panthers regained balance and gained
yardage. The mighty come back! The Panthers put
up a fight for a touchdown, but alas Carlos Vedarte,
#10, wide receiver, rushed into the end zone and
scored 6 points. The crowd went wild and the U.S.H.
S. Band played their mighty fight song. After the
touchdown, the boys got motivated and showed
progress. Motivating the team, Robert Camarillo, #
7, quarter back, made a quick pass to Vedarte, wide
receiver, to score another 6 points. Jorge Vasquez,
#5, kicker, who never fails at a field goal, scored the
conversion and tied the game in the 2nd quarter.
After the halftime show, Jorge Vasquez, began the
3rd quarter with a short kick. The Mustangs got an
advantage from the kick, and scored another
touchdown. The tables turned as Camarillo passed
the football to Cesar Ruiz, #2, wide receiver, and
Panthers gained yardage. Everyone was confident
that Vasquez, our kicker, would give us a 2 point
conversion. He fulfilled and brought the score to
Panthers 17- Mustangs 28. Camarillo snatched a
quick pass to Orlando Contreras, #15, wide receiver,
and fulfilled more yardage. The quarter ended at
Panthers 17- Mustangs 35.
At last, the 4th quarter began and the Panthers jet
into their positions and scored 6 points to set the
score board. This point conversion added points to
the scoreboard; Panthers 24- Mustangs 35. The
Mustangs caught the ball, but the Panthers tackled
them and the game stood still. Robert Camarillo
scored another touchdown and the score board
revealed Panthers 30- Mustangs 42. Vedarte, with
huge yardage, gave the Panthers a great
opportunity to score, yet the Mustangs placed 6
more points on the board.  Immediately after, the
Panthers scored a touchdown, plus a 2 point
conversion. Final score: Panthers 38- Mustangs 56.
After a tough challenge the Panthers lost the first
game of the season. The Panthers have not lost
hope; they’ve gained motivation. “We, as a team,
cannot be satisfied with where we are at right now.
We, as a team, need to work hard because when we
work hard… we will be hard to beat.” Carlos Vedarte,
Senior and Wide Receiver, said.
On September 09, the Panthers expect victory
Friday night, at the SAC, when the Panthers take on
the Alexander Bulldogs.

How are Predictions Made?
LMS, 09.08.11
A visitor emailed us asking how a newspaper predicts
high school football scores.  Well, there is a high
school football web site that predicts the scores. They
have the software that will analysis data from teams
and players and that is how the scores are set - by a
computer.  I do not have the name of the web site at
this moment.

Then, people take those numbers and they will either
add 2 points or minus 1 point or whatever to the
predicted scores.  And, they publish it, making you
think they are "whizzes" at making predictions.
I hope that answers your question.
Offensive Explosions Highlight Week 2 - District
Game 1   (Laredo, Texas)
LMS, 09.10.11
Week 2 came by, with an offensive explosion by
three teams:  Laredo's Alexander, United, and Nixon
football teams.  And, a surprising lose from Laredo
LBJ which was a pre-season favorite.
Week 2 of district games began on Thursday, with
the Eagles Pass Eagles played at SAC against
Laredo LBJ Wolves.  The Eagles won 28 - 14.  The
Eagles replacement of 2010 Tommy Galvan, QB,
for 2011 went to QB Jose Rodriguez, a senior.  And,
Eagle Daniel Felix, RB, show  the right stuff the
Eagles are made off.  The defense lead by Filemon
Perez,DB, managed to stop the LBJ offense.
